What is a village?

The municipality is a public law corporation, a legal person. It is a basic unit in public administration. Depending on the type of municipality, it is the state administration.  In the Czech Republic, municipalities are defined by the Municipalities Act. According to the CZSO, 6259 municipalities and districts are in the Czech Republic. 

The village is a self-governing community of citizens, which forms a whole bounded by borders. This public-law corporation has its own assets that it manages.  In legal relationships he acts on his own behalf, he also has the responsibility that results from these relationships. The municipality performs state administration in delegated competence.  It is governed by laws and regulations that are issued by law, by government decree, directives of central authorities.
